ALASKA

and the

GREAT BEAR RAINFOREST. BC.

Another Exclusive Mirrabac Tour

Our exclusive Alaska tour combined with the Great Bear Rainforest in British Columbia, Canada will take us to pristine wilderness locations that you could only dream of. In Alaska we will fly over North America's highest mountain, Mt McKinley, walk on vast galaciers, watch for big game and visit local native villages and much more...

then.. sail through the fjords of the Great Bear Rainforest in British Columbia, Canada, where black and grizzly bear feed on spawning salmon. If we are lucky we may see wolves and get a glimpse of the rare Kermode bear or the 'Spirit Bear' as it's known by the locals. Watch humpback and other large sea mammals like orca and finback whales in such large numbers you will be amazed.

The Great Bear Rainforest is one of those places on the planet where tourists numbers are limited - and those numbers are not great! We will treat you to a once in a lifetime experience in North West American continent. What's more we will do it in style and comfort.

What more can I say... You would be privileged to have the opportunity to travel in such a pristine area of our planet like the Great Bear Rainforest. We'd love to share this adventure with you and don't forget - There's nothing like being there!

THE GREAT BEAR RAINFOREST, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA

This spectacular rainforest is one of the world's great temperate rainforests. The Pacific Ocean and meandering fjords lap at its wild and mountainous coastline. Indigenous First nations communities fish, hunt and gather berries as they have done for thousands of years.

The ancient forest is home to thousand-year-old red cedars and towering Sitka spruce, wolves, moose, mountain goats, grizzly and black bears.

It is also known as the Spirit Bear Rainforest.  it is the home of the rare 'spirit' or Kermode bear - see photo above.

THE ISLAND ROAMER - Our home for 8 days and 7 nights

This is our home as we explore the region's culture history, wilderness and wildlife. The Island Roamer is a custom built 68 foot ketch - large enough for comfort, privacy and safety, and small enough to create a good rapport among passengers and crew. The boats design, safety and comfort makes her perfect for these trips.

Our hosts, Bluewater Adventures, were recently selected by National Geographic as one of the World's 50 Best Trips. Guided by world class naturalist and their highly skilled crew, we will experience the rainforest in a way that very few people do.

From an early morning paddle in a kayak (optional of course) to daily shore excursions, culture and native hikes, gourmet meals and evening chart talks, we will be uplifted by the serenity that being totally immersed in nature brings. And we will never be in a hurry. Our daily itinerary will be flexible, to allow for those spontaneous detours that will have us in the right place at just the right time..

So if you would like to stray close to unsuspecting wildlife, feel the spray of sky-high waterfalls, sail into seldom-visited inlets with no idea of what you might spot there, stroll a pristine beach or drift quietly alongside marine wildlife, this is an adventure for you.

Our hosts will tell you " It's completely different, watching wildlife from seven stories up on a cruise ship and watching them from water level. When you are floating by, it's so quiet, so peaceful, you can actually hear the animals breathing."
